It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading is a weekly feature hosted by Book Date to share what we've read, what we're reading and what's up next. It's also a way to share news and get organized.

Hey Minions!

I'm Back!!

Well, I kind of took a bit of a hiatus from Michelle's Minions. It started with some not so good things that happened in my personal life that slowed down my reading. I still kept up, though. I got reviews posted and participated in other weekly memes (Top Ten Tuesday, Stacking the Shelves & Waiting on Wednesday) as often as I could. But, as most of you know, the REAL reason I took some time away was because of my newest Mini-Minion, Millie Lou:

She took up quite a bit of my time, and between her and her crazy brother, I didn't have much time to read or blog. I'm getting more into a routine now and last week I went back to work at the bookstore, so I figured it was time to jump back into things here. I'll be posting more regularly and I even have some giveaways coming! SO, here I am, and I'll start with an It's Monday! post to let you know what I'm reading. I'll do my best to keep the posts coming!

Oh, and just a heads up, on Saturday I will be posting a MASSIVE Stacking the Shelves post. It's been about three weeks, so it's a lot to begin with, but I had a big Book Outlet order, a ton of eARCs for review AND I got my tax return . . .

So, yeah...I bought a few books. Not sorry.

Now, for my actual It's Monday! post:

What I read:

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

I know I'm late to the party, but I can certainly see what all the fuss was about this one! Review to come!

Currently Reading:

Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight

It's for a book club that's meeting on Sunday. I figured I should start the book!

What's Up Next:

Gates of the Arctic by Shelena Shorts

Seems appropriate for right now since it was so cold last night my garage door froze shut and it's currently snowing.

What are you reading this week?

  1. I'm about 1/4 of the way through A Court of Thorns and Roses and I just can't get into it. Does it get better? It's not a genre I normally read a lot of but I'd heard so many great things about it!

    1. It actually took me a while to get into it, too, but it's worth it to keep going. You'll get a lot more fantasy, intrigue, creepy creatures and swoony romance soon. I love Sarah J Mass' writing, too.

    2. Good to know!!! Thank you--I will keep going!! I like her writing too, just having trouble getting invested in the story.

  2. You know, I really should start thinking about getting my taxes done. I was going to sort through paperwork last weekend but just didn't get around to doing it. I'll have to make an appointment for taxes which will force me to get ready. Here's my week. Happy reading!

  4. Congrats again on your new baby! She is adorable. I applaud you on still being able to blog with two kids...I am a bit nervous about that myself. I hope I can still find time to read! I loved A Court of Thorn and Roses as well...didn't read it until last month...I was late to read it as well! I am so glad I did though- loved it! I look forward to your STS post next weekend...can't wait to see what goodies you got! Enjoy your books!
