Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
This week's Top Ten topic is a Thanksgiving themed FREEBIE. So, I decided to list book related things I'm thankful for.
1. Books.
How could I not start off being thankful for books? I don't know what I'd do without them.
2. Authors
THANK YOU, THANK YOU< THANK YOU to all the authors out there who write the books I love so much. Without you and your hard work, perseverance and dedication, this world would be a very boring place.
3. The Book Blogging Community
Seriously, THANK YOU. It's been a pretty tough year for me, but the outpouring of support I've gotten from the book blogging community has amazing. Even though I haven't actually met most of you face to face, I'm truly touched by your kind words. I love to visit all of you, see what you're reading and give back some of the love you've shown me.
4. Working in a Bookstore.
I've been lucky enough to work in various bookstores for MANY years. It's what made me who I am today. I'm truly grateful for the opportunity and for the wonderful people and authors I've met along the way. I love going to work. That's where the books live. . . until I take them home!
5. Edelweiss and NetGalley
You know that feling when a book you've been waiting for shows up on Edelweiss or NetGalley?
Yeah, it's a good feeling. I do prefer physical books, but I do appreciate the eARCs. I've actually discovered some great books that way, ones I wouldn't have picked up normally. Plus, I can take them anywhere since I have the Kindle app on my phone.
6. ARCs.
I can't forget the actual ARCs I receive. The amount has definitely gone down since there are so many eARCs available, so when I get physical ARCs, I appreciate them more.
7. That I'm able to have so many books.
I'm lucky. I have access to all the books my heart desires. Not everyone is that lucky. That's why I'll happily donate to organizations like RIF or The Pajama Program.
8. Reading Time.
These days it seems like I have less and less time to read, so I'm truly thankful for the moments I do get.
9. Book Signings.
Seriously. Going to a book signing is to me like going to a concert for most people. I'm so thankful that authors will travel to meet fans, answer questions and sign their books.
That's right. I'm thankful your YOU. Every one of you that stops by to read what I post.
I remember being so worried that I would take all this time to write a review or blog post and nobody would see it. I know that doesn't happen, and I thank you for taking the time.
YOU ROCK!
Happy Thanksgiving!!
