Stacking the Shelves 8/1/15

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Tynga's Reviews to share what we've added to our shelves for the week.

This was my worst week yet, blog-wise. I pretty much had a week long slump. It's kind of depressing, but hopefully August is going to be much better. I signed up for ARC August so I'm planning on making my way through as many ARCs as possible in the next 30 days. Hopefully the reviews will start pouring in as well. I have some waiting to be written, I just haven't gotten the motivation this week. I really don't like summer, heat and humidity make me lazy.

Anyway, here's this week's haul...

Bought

Famous Last Words by Katie Alender (paperback)
The Inventor's Secret by Andrea Cremer (paperback)

ARC from the Author

Devil's Pocket (Phoenix Island #2) by John Dixon

John Dixon lives near me and he stopped into the bookstore I work in to drop this off for me. WHat a nice surprise! This will be my first book for ARC August!

What did you add to your shelves for the week?

  1. I'm with you Michelle-I HATE summer! Heat, humidity, noisy children, huge spiders, wasps, midges, neighbours having noisy late night parties...what is there to LIKE about summer??? Now that it's August I know that I can look forward to the clocks changing and cold winter nights with a good book and hot chocolate, or curled up in my bed watching a film!

  15. I've read Andrea Cremer's Nightshade series, but I haven't read any of her other books. Is the Inventor's Secret good?

  16. Aww I am sorry you had such a slump! Humidity totally makes me lazy too- it's kind of the worst (and a great excuse to do nothing!) I LOVE the cover for A Sky Unbroken- of course, I haven't read the other books in the series- are they good? I assume, or else you probably wouldn't have picked up the third ;) Shattered Blue sounds good too! Hope you have a much better week, and enjoy the new books :)
