Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Authors I Really Want To Meet

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week's Top Ten topic is "Ten Authors I'd REALLY like to meet". Now, I consider myself very lucky because I have already met SO MANY authors. Not only have I met many of my favorite authors, but I'm extremely fortunate to call some of them my friends. I've been working in bookstores for many years and going to BEA as well, so I've had the opportunity to connect with a lot of people in the book buisness. I can definitely think of a few I haven't met and really want to, though.

Lauren Oliver

She's written some of my favorite books. I've been in the same place as her a few times but I always miss meeting her. One day I'll tell her how much I love her.

Kiera Cass

OH! I love The Selection series and I'd love to meet Kiera Cass! She seems so fun and sweeet!

Sarah Dessen

I've never met Sarah Dessen and I feel a little bit empty because if it.

Sarah J. Maas

She's been to several bookstores in my area a few times but for whatever reason, I haven't been able to make it to the signings.

Leigh Bardugo

Her books are just amazing. I'd be in awe of her.

John Green

A friend of mine (who is an author) is a friend of his. He seems like a cool guy. I'd love to have dinner with him, I imagine the conversation would be fascinating.

Lisa Mantchev

I talk to her on Facebook all the time and she is awesome. I'd love to meet her in person, but she lives on the other side of the country :(

Veronica Rossi

She wrote one of my favorite series, so she's on m y must meet list as well. Perhaps I could convince her to write a spin-off series starring Roar ;) I need more Roar.

Lindsay Cummnigs

Besides the fact that I love her writing, she seems like she'd be a lot of fun. Follow her on Instagram if you don't believe me @authorlindsaycummings

Laurie Faria-Stolarz

She's one of my FAVORITE authors and every time I've communicated with her online she's been super nice. It would be a pleasure to meet her in person.

What authors do you REALLY want to meet?

  4. I've met quite a few authors in my time as well. Going to RT helps! Totally in tears that I am not there this year. Losing my job sucked big time! But ohhhh I would LOVE to meet Laurie Faira Stolarz! Loved her first series Blue is for Nightmares! I bought the first book to her Deadly Little Secrets series and also have Welcome to the Dark House!

Hope you get to meet these authors sometime in the future!

    Here's my Tuesday Post

  6. Meeting Sarah Dessen was a highlight in my life so far. Very exciting. I would also LOVE to meet John Green and Lauren Oliver. I'm new to the Lauren Oliver fan club, but WOAH, she's awesome. I now must figure out a way to see her. I also really need to read a Laurie Faria-Stolarz book. I mean, she's your favorite author, so obviously I've been missing out!!!

  16. Great list and I totally agree with you on Lindsay Cummings. She's so fun to follow on IG! And SARAH J. MAAS is a must meet! I want to meet her so much and tell her how much I love her and I think she is amazing!!!!

I want to go to BEA so badly! But NY is always just way too expensive for me to go to. Thank god in 2016 BEA is in CHICAGO (my home city!) So, hopefully I will be able to meet some authors then!! :)

    1. New York is just a two and a half hour drive (unless there's traffic) from where I live, so it's just tolls and parking to pay. I don't have to pay to get in because I'm a VIP bookseller. I'm still only going one day though (Thursday) because I can't get away for more than that. Sadly, I won't be able to go when it's in Chicago. It's just too far and too expensive. I'm glad you'll get the opportunity to go, though.

    2. :( for you not being able to go next year. But that's cool that you don't have to pay to get in. I've always wanted to work in a bookstore.

  18. That's awesome that you've had the opportunity to meet a ton of authors in the past! It's a testament to all the exciting books out there that there are still a lot of great authors to meet. I'd be interested in interacting with Leigh Bardugo sometime. If she wasn't scary:0).
