Book Description from Goodreads:

Love burns. Worlds collide. Magic reigns.

This world is trying to kill Lily Proctor. Her life-threatening allergies keep her from enjoying many of the experiences that other teenagers take for granted...which is why she is determined to enjoy her first (and perhaps only) high-school party. But Lily's life never goes according to plan, and after a humiliating incident in front of half her graduating class Lily wishes she could just disappear.

Suddenly Lily is in a different Salem - one overrun with horrifying creatures and ruled by powerful women called Crucibles. Strongest and cruellest of all the Crucibles is Lillian . . . Lily's identical other self in this alternate universe. This new version of her world is terrifyingly sensual, and Lily is soon overwhelmed by new experiences.

Lily realizes that what makes her weak at home is exactly what makes her extraordinary in New Salem. It also puts her life in danger. Thrown into a world she doesn't understand, Lily is torn between responsibilities she can't hope to shoulder alone, and a love she never expected.

But how can Lily be the saviour of this world when she is literally her own worst enemy?

Magic, monsters, a dreamy boy named Tristan and an alternate fantasy universe...

I also love anything that has to do with Salem witches.

I really, really want this book. I stood in line for a half hour at BEA (Book Expo America) while Josephine Angelini was signing and I had my fingers crossed that I would get a copy. I knew there were only about 100 copies to go around and I tried to count the people before me. Unfortunately, a few people in front of me we were turned away because they ran out of books (it happened a lot at BEA). I was bummed. I guess I can wait. Impatiently.

  1. I don't think I have read a Salem witch book. This sounds like a great October read.

  3. Yeah this one looks like a really good book to me too. I love the cover and the description. Don't think I've read a witch yet this year.

    1. Come to think of it, I haven't read a witch book yet this year either. I think there are more coming out in the fall.
