September is for Sequels Sign Up Post!

September is for Sequels is hosted by Lisa @ Lisa Loves Literature. I definitely need to hop on this one! I am notoriously bad at reading sequels and finishing series. I get so many shiny new books that I get distracted by. It's not that I don't WANT to continue with these series, I am just so bad at waiting, and when the sequels finally come out, I end up buried under piles of new books. So, September sounds like a great month to focus on a few much anticipated sequels!

Objective:
To read and review a minimum of 4 sequels between the dates of September 1st and 30th

I can do this, no problem.

Rules:
  • It would be good if you had a blog to post reviews, or you can be a Goodreads Member and post your reviews on the site.  I'll open it up to people who want to post reviews on Amazon or Barnes and Noble as well.
  • The book must be a sequel - it can be any # in the series, just not the first book.  Prequels can count if they were published AFTER the first one in the series.  You can do e-books, even ARCs or e-galleys, as well as good old fashioned books.  And, I'll even let you count the little 1.5 novellas that are often published as e-books only.
  • The deadline to sign up and participate is September 15th.
  • You must post on your blog an entry that has a list of the sequels you're planning to read, but it doesn't have to be complete, or you could even just post your goal, do you plan to read 8, or more?  You can always go back as the month proceeds and enter the books as you read and review them.  If you don't have a blog, then you can just post a comment on this post listing your goals.
  • Make sure you grab the button and put it in your entry post, or on the sidebar of your blog.

More info and the sign up can be found HERE on Lisa's blog. She's even giving away a $20 gift card to a lucky participant!

Here are some sequels I hope to read in September:

Of course, I have a few others I really want to read, too.

Obviously I don't expect to read ALL of these, but I'm going to read as many as I can. My goal is at least 6. These are what I have to choose from. I know there are a few that are definite must reads.

Wish me luck!

  2. Cool reading challenge!! I am bad at following up with sequels at times too for the same reasons you've mentioned... I have several books that need to read as part of a series... I may consider signing up for this reading challenge!! Happy reading!!
