Description from Goodreads:
Ivy Jensen survived the Dark House once, but can she make it out a second time?
Two months have passed since Ivy narrowly escaped the Nightmare Elf’s grip, but the memories of Parker, Natalie, Shayla, Frankie, and Garth continue to haunt her. Their killer is still out there—somewhere. The police trail has gone cold, though, and it’s up to Ivy to piece together the clues to find him.
When a cryptic video arrives in her inbox, Ivy soon finds herself back in the spotlight, this time on a twisted scavenger hunt through the dark, ancient halls of a long-forgotten Gothic school building. Ivy’s not alone, either. Taylor Monroe has returned to the scene. But can Taylor be trusted? Or is she another pawn in the Nightmare Elf’s deadly game?
Laurie Faria Stolarz crafts a mesmerizing thriller that will leave readers looking over their shoulders.

Why I'm excited:
Ok, normally I pick books for my WoW that have release dates much farther away, but I am just SO excited to get my hands on this book that I feel like next week is a year away! I absolutely loved the first book, Welcome to the Dark House:
It reminded me of the 90s horror movies that I love, like Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer and Urban Legend. It was scary, smart, witty and fun, and it left me eagerly and impatiently waiting for the sequel, like all good horror movies (and books) should.
Laurie Faria Stolarz is also one of my favorite authors, so that's another reason I'm shaking with anticipation over Return to the Dark House. If you haven't read her other books, I highly recommend that you do, especially if you like creepy suspense and mystery. Start with her Blue is for Nightmares series, it's fantastic!
I have less than a week to wait for Return to the Dark House, but MAN is it going to be rough! It's almost here!
Come on, next Tuesday...
What are you waiting to read?

I've only read one book by Stolarz and I really enjoyed it. I keep meaning to get back to the others in the series! I didn't read the first book to this one, but I think it's on my shelves from BEA or something of that sort. I hope you enjoyed it. Nice pick. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteYES!!! I'm so excited for Return to the Dark House!! Book one was SO good! I hope we both get to read it the second it comes out! :D
ReplyDeleteHere's my WoW!

I've never heard about this series until now but I'm so glad I did because it looks really interesting (and creepy). I love a good mystery/thriller so this is going straight to my tbr. Thanks for sharing :)

Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
I haven't read this author, but her books look really good! I need to check her out asap! <3
ReplyDeleteOhh, I haven't seen this book before, but it sounds really interesting. And I totally get it about picking books for a WoW post even when the release date is close. I can't help it sometimes too. I fangirl over a book so much that it gets harder the closer to the release day we come.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy this book and thanks for stopping by my blog!
Great pick. I have heard really good things about the first book in this series but I have yet to check it out! It sounds really creepy though.

I still haven't read Welcome to the Dark House, but I really want to! Not much longer until you can read the second one!
ReplyDeleteAriel @ Bookish Confessions
I'm ready for this one as well! I thought the first one would make a perfect horror movie, so will wait to see where the cliffhanger leads us in this one. Great pick! And thanks for stopping by my WOW earlier!
ReplyDeleteI recently saw this on a WoW and I agree it sounds so good! Great pick!
ReplyDeleteMy WoW
oh I haven't read the first book. But I love those silly 90s horror movies (especially I Know What You did Last Summer). I'll have to check this series out!
ReplyDeleteChristina @ Books & Prejudice
I'm not much into horror. Glad you're enjoying this series though. And you only have a few days left to wait. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the first book yet, but I've been wanting to read it since the cover was revealed (which was ages ago). I've read the author's other series (both blue is for nightmares & touch), so I really need to pick it up! Great pick!
ReplyDeleteI'm not much on a horror movie because I'm easily scared! While when I'm reading a horror book, I take more than breaks than usual because my imagination got the best of me, but I always read horror books despite my frightened nature.. :) Great pick!
ReplyDeleteDonita @ My Random Book thoughts
I've always wanted to read her Blue is for Nightmares series. Maybe I'll start with this book instead, though. I didn't even know such a thing existed--or is going to exist. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the first book just yet, but I hope this will live up to your expectations! :)
ReplyDeleteI have yet to read the first book! But I love the covers! Great pick!
