OwlCrate! June Box: Diversity Theme

I was so excited today when my OwlCrate arrived! If you have no idea what this is, well, let me explain. OwlCrate is a monthly YA book subscription box. Every month, OwlCrate announces a theme and they send a super cool box with a new Young Adult novel, released within the past month or so, and 3-5 other bookish goodies that fit the theme. The box I received today was the June box, and the theme was DIVERSITY. Want to see what was in my OwlCrate?

I opened up my awesome box to find the book More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera. I don't already own it and I definitely want to read it! Great choice, OwlCrate peeps! Along with the book was a More Happy Than Not poster and temporary tattoo. As for the bookish goodies, well, they did a fantastic job picking them! There's a banner that says, "Albus Dumbledore Supports Marriage Equality" that I will be hanging from one of my bookshelves, a pair of earrings that say, "Read More Diverse Books" and some neat-o wings for my shoes. Take a closer look below at the earrings (that I LOVE) and the shoe wings (that my four-year-old son already tried to steal).

I had to get on the waiting list for the box and when it became available, I had to act fast. I now have a monthly subscription ($29.99 a month plus shipping). They've already announced the theme for next month's box . . . FRIENDSHIP. Hmm . . . I have an idea what the book might be. I just have to avoid buying any books about friendship until next month. I figured that even if for some reason the book they pick is one I already own (bought or received as an ARC), I can just do a giveaway for it and keep the other bookish goodies.

If you're interested, check out OwlCrate at OwlCrate.com . If you get on the waiting list for the July Box, they'll send you an email letting you know when they're available for sale. You can also follow them on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

I love this!

  1. Oooo, what a cool concept. I've never heard of Owlcrate until now. I like that you receive a box with not only a book, but other goodies that tie into a monthly theme. Thanks for sharing your experience with Owlcrate along pictures of what you received!!
