Stormi @ Books, Movies, Reviews! Oh My! and Mandy @ The Reading Diaries have teamed up to encourage themselves and others to use Instagram more.
So they came up with #Dustoffyourbookshelf where you display a book that you have had on your shelf for a long time and probably forgotten about. If you have time to grab it off the shelf and read it that is great, but you don’t have to read what you display. You can be creative in your displaying or you can just take a picture of it on your shelf. They are mainly doing this to get into Instagram but thought it would be fun to do a post on Thursdays since there's normally not a lot to post for Thursdays. It’s not technically a meme yet unless they get some followers, so join in the fun!

I'm actually on Instagram quite a bit, so I figured this sounded like fun.
Here's what I found this week:
Hereafter (Hereafter #1) by Tara Hudson
(Goodreads)
Drifting in the dark waters of a mysterious river, the only thing Amelia knows for sure is that she's dead. With no recollection of her past life—or her actual death—she's trapped alone in a nightmarish existence. All of this changes when she tries to rescue a boy, Joshua, from drowning in her river. As a ghost, she can do nothing but will him to live. Yet in an unforgettable moment of connection, she helps him survive.
Amelia and Joshua grow ever closer as they begin to uncover the strange circumstances of her death and the secrets of the dark river that held her captive for so long. But even while they struggle to keep their bond hidden from the living world, a frightening spirit named Eli is doing everything in his power to destroy their newfound happiness and drag Amelia back into the ghost world . . . forever.
Thrilling and evocative, with moments of pure pleasure, Hereafter is a sensation you won't want to miss.
I recently found (and ordered) the other two books in this series from the Book Outlet on the cheap, so hopefully that will give me the motivation to read this one.
Have you read this?
Feel free to join in. Share on your blog, facebook, Instagram or twitter any social media platform you prefer. Use #DustOffYourBookshelf .

Wow, I could never get multiple sequels if I haven't read the first one. Series are generally too much of a commitment for me to buy the whole thing. I love novels about ghosts and I think this one might be actually interesting. Waiting for review though before I take the plunge and get it.
ReplyDeleteThey were less than $3 each, so I didn't spend too much. I hate having incomplete series.
