Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Books From Childhood/Teen Years I'd Like To Revisit

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

by Arnold Lobel

This was my favorite book when I was little. I had my parents read it to me every night. It's long out of print but I still have my original copy. The illustrations are gorgeous and really sparked my imagination.

Arnold Lobel is best known for his Frog and Toad series.

Bunnicula by Deborah & James Howe

Choose You Own Adventure books by various authors

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle

by Robert C. O'Brien

The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle

The Baby-sitters Club by Ann M. Martin

Yes, I read these.

Sweet Valley High by Francine Pascal

Kurt Vonnegut books

When I was in High School, I read all of Kurt Vonnegut's books. I loved them so much, but I don't remember all of them. I really want to re-read them all now as an adult.

It's been a long time since I've read this. I'd love to revisit it.

What books make you reminisce about your youth?

  2. Bunnicula! I am so glad someone else loved him. In fact, I just recently bought a box set of the first 7 books because I never read them all and I wanted to have them for always. I truly believe Bunnicula spawned my love all all things horror and supernatural.

    1. I haven't read them all either, but that sounds like a great way to spend a day! I think Bunnicula started it all for me, too :)

  3. I've seen a few lists with Bunnicula on them, I've never read it but the title is catchy so I might give it a try. I've got Baby-sitters Club and Sweet Valley High on my list also. Really nice TTT list.

  8. Bunnicula!! I loved that book! And also it scared me... even though I don't think it's even that scary of a book LOL. I also LOVED SVH. Lila was my fave. I had the board game too. And of course BSC. Me and my friends would always fight over who was the "Mallory" of our group :)

  10. My daughter was obsessed with Bunnicula. Totally. And Mrs. Frisby and The Last Unicorn. She loved those and the cartoons that were based on them.

  12. You have posted a lot of books, most of which I'm not familiar with. My childhood favorites centered a lot around Enid Blyton.

  13. Great list! I remember my sister and I fighting over Sweet Valley High books as we took it in turns to buy them and the other one always took too long! Love Bunnicula and can't believe I forgot about A Wrinkle In Time and NIMH!

  14. I wish I had included A Wrinkle in Time - I would love to re-read that. Looking at everyone's lists has reminded me of so many I wish I hadn't forgotten! Also I've never seen or heard of The Ice Cream Cone Coot but it looks utterly delightful and I want to try and track down a copy!

  15. That bird book looks REALLY cute, I am going to have to try to find that for my kids! And HOW did I forget Choose Your Own Adventure!? I LOVED THOSE. But I cheated more often than not ;) Oops? And I adored the BSC books. SO much. I kind of want to reread them, but I'll refrain ;) Great list!

  18. I feel like I missed out so much by not reading a Wrinkle in Time! The Ice Cream Cone Coot and Other Rare Birds look so interesting. I wish it hadn't gone out of print so I could see it.
