I reviewed this about a year ago, but because of the re-launch, I will re-post my review along with info about the book and the author.

Ok, here is my original review (it's a little more in-depth):

Deliciously disturbed Chase spends his entire life hiding from his painful past by keeping his head down and trying to go unnoticed. His parents died in a horrible accident when he was younger leaving him with scars both mental and physical. Beautiful and popular Evie is keeping her own secrets hidden while putting on a brave face for the world. Her home life is a mess and her "perfect" boyfriend, Shane, is not as wonderful as everyone thinks. He's actually quite cruel and lately he's been getting worse. 

When Evie and Chase are forced to work together on a school project they discover that they have a lot in common, and an intense attraction quickly forms between them. They find that they are able to fill the emptiness in each others hearts and heal each other's emotional pain. Unfortunately, life is complicated, and at the moment Evie still has a boyfriend who honestly frightens her most of the time. She has no idea what he would do if she tried to break up with him, but for her own happiness and safety, she has no choice. They will quickly discover exactly how dangerous Shane truly is. A note. A party. A prank gone horribly wrong. As their world shatters, dear reader, so will yours. What you think you're thinking isn't what you're really thinking. Between These Lines is a wonderful book. It's got romance, drama, surprises and of course, Jennifer Murgia's gorgeous writing. I was totally pulled into it to the point where I was annoyed that things in my real life took me away from it. I just wanted to stay with these sweet but damaged people, Chase and Evie, to give them hugs and support as they dealt with their own problems. And the ending...POW! What an ending...I seriously had to take time to recover from it.
