Description from Goodreads:

Stella Cross's heart is poisoned.

After years on the transplant waiting list, she's running out of hope that she'll ever see her eighteenth birthday. Then, miraculously, Stella receives the transplant she needs to survive.

Determined to embrace everything she came so close to losing, Stella throws herself into her new life. But her recovery is marred by strange side effects: Nightmares. Hallucinations. A recurring pain that flares every day at the exact same moment. Then Stella meets Levi Zin, the new boy on everyone's radar at her Seattle prep school. Stella has never felt more drawn to anyone in her life, and soon she and Levi are inseparable.

Stella is convinced that Levi is her soul mate. Why else would she literally ache for him when they are apart?

After all, the heart never lies...does it?

Why did I choose this?

Well, since it's Valentine's week, I figured I'd stick with the heart theme. From what I hear, this book is fast-paced and really creepy. There's been a lot of praise for the writing and characters, and it promises to keep you on the edge of your seat, so I'm pretty excited to read this thrilling debut for myself.

What are you waiting to read?

  2. The whole heart transplant soulmate thing reminds me of this bad vampire book I read haha. Hopefully this one is better than that and you enjoy it! The cover certainly doesn't give you any warning of a creepy book haha.

  3. Sounds good! Reminds me of a couple movies as well. One with David Duchovny, and then another where someone had an eye transplant and it was a murderer's eyes I think that she got.

  11. I like the cover, but I don't think this book is my thing. I could be wrong, of course. I'd have to read some reviews once it's out. :)
