Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Characters I Wish Would Get Their Own Book

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week's Top Ten topic is, "Ten characters you wish would get their OWN book (minor or semi-main character that you wish could have a book in their POV). I've been thinking for a while and this one is kind if tough. Let's see if I can make it to ten...

Nikolai Lantsov (Sturmhund) from The Grisha trilogy by Leigh Bardugo

This HAS TO happen. Nikolai is funny, charming and exciting. I'd love to follow him on some pirate adventures.

Roar from the Under the Never Sky series by Veronica Rossi

Roar. Oh, Roar. I love him. I think he's more interesting than Perry. I love his charisma and he could easily carry his own book. I'd read it as I swooned.

Simon Lewis from The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare

I guess I'm actually getting this one. I can't wait to read these stories about Simon's further adventures!

Myrnin from The Morganville Vampires series by Rachel Caine

Myrnin is really old and bats#!t crazy, but I'm sure he's got a lot of stories to tell. I'd love to get into the head of this mad man. I'd like to see him get a book of short stories, like Magnus Bane did.

Johanna Mason from The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins

I'd love to read about her Hunger Games win. I think her POV would be a lot of fun, too.

Turk from the Mystic City series by Theo Lawrence

I liked Turk in Mystic City, but I LOVED him in Toxic Heart. I definitely need more Turk!

Celeste from The Selection series by Kiera Cass

Why Celeste? Well, in the beginning, I hated her, but by the end I loved her. She also grew as a character. It would be interesting to read the Selection from her POV.

Murtagh from the Inheritance cycle

Murtagh is way more interesting and WAY cooler than Eragon.

Kai from For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund

Kai was away for four years going on adventures with the Cloud Fleet and doing other things while he made his transition from farm boy to Captain Malakai Wentforth. It would be interesting to read about.

Renesmee from the Twilight saga by Stephenie Meyer

Oh, you know we'd all read it.

Whew! That was hard!

Who do you think needs their own book?

  2. I almost picked Nikolai, he's such a great character! I liked Simon a lot better in the second 'trilogy' than the first. I'm not so sure about these new shorts though. (I liked him how he was!) I'm happy for you though. :)

Johanna would make a good protagonist! I wonder if she started out not caring what other people thought or if she started out sweet and innocent. (I doubt it)

  3. I REALLY want to start The Grisha Trilogy! It has been on my radar recently and I've been reading so many good things about it. Great list!

  4. The interesting thing about Renesmee is that if you start a story with her situation--with what is essentially a "foreordained" coupling--the story almost has to go that she rebels against it.

  7. I agree, even though Celeste didn't start out as a very likable character, I think it would be interesting to get her point of view.

  8. I loved Perry and Roar equally from different reasons so I'm with you, Roar needs his own story. Okay, he and Liv does have their story but I'd read a whole book from his point of view!
