Stacking the Shelves: Weekly Book Haul

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Tynga's Reviews. Stacking the shelves is about sharing what I've added to my shelves for the week, whether it's physical books, eBooks, ARCs from publishers or eBook ARCs from Edelweiss or NetGalley.

Not a lot of new books this week, which is fine because I am currently overwhelmed with what I have, what I'm reading, what I need to review and what is coming soon. Once September comes, there are a TON of awesome new releases headed for my shelves. For right now, I'm ok with the lull.

Bought

Antigoddess by Kendare Blake
Asylum by Madeleine Roux
Red Queen by Christopher Pike
The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Schneider

(All paperbacks)

eBook ARCs from NetGalley

Loop by Karen Akins
Love and Other Unknown Variables by Shannon Lee Alexander

eBook ARC from Edelweiss

The Walls Around Us by Nova Ren Suma

I also saw the movie If I Stay, based on the book by Gayle Forman. It was wonderful. I cried my eyes out. It was perfect. ChloĆ« Grace Moretz and Jamie Blackley did a fantastic job bringing Mia and Adam to life. Definitely make time to go and see it.

What did you add to your shelves this week? Did you see If I Stay yet? What did you think?

Read on...

  1. I've been seeing a lot of fun status updates about Love and other Unknown Variables! I hope you enjoy it! And I am seeing the If I Stay movie tomorrow. I am definitely going to bring a tissue box (which I forgot when I went to see TFIOS) because I know I am going to cry my eyes out too! But so excited to see it!

    Happy Reading!

    1. I started crying pretty much right away because I knew what was going to happen. I brought a whole box of tissues and ended up sharing them with all the people around me. There was not a dry eye in that theater. I was a mess by the end. It really was wonderful, though. Very true to the book and very well done.

  7. I liked Antigoddess and The Beginning of Everything! Asylum was okay, it just wasn't my thing. And I'm glad you enjoyed the movie! I'm thinking about going to go see it myself!

  8. i really want to read love and other variables. the cover reminds of jennifer e. smith's the statistical probably of love at first sight which i really liked. i hesitate to request it on netgalley though because my ratio is so terrible. sigh. i'm looking forward to reading readers' thoughts about it. happy reading and i hope you can stop by my StS Post.
