Lea and Gabe are college students who are meant to be together, and everyone knows this except for the two of them. They watch the same tv shows, laugh at the same jokes and hang out at the same places. Heck, they even order the same food, at the same time, from the local Chinese restaurant! It seems like fate should have these two on a fast-track to coupledom, but missed opportunities, bad timing and their own awkward shyness have gotten in the way of their happy ending. It looks like fate may need a little help. Everywhere Lea and Gabe go, they have supporters silently cheering them on, some even trying to nudge them along on the way to the epic romance they are clearly destined for. They both have their reasons for being shy, especially Gabe, but hopefully love will prevail and find a way around their issues. This is a love story told entirely by the people around the should-be couple. Their friends, family, a delivery guy, a diner waittress, their creative writing teacher, the bus driver, their barista, the park bench and a very hungry squirrel take turns telling the story of how Lea and Gabe got together.

This is, perhaps, the cutest book I've ever read....

A Little Something Different is exactly what it says it is...a little something different. It's told from fourteen very different points of view, none of which belong to the main characters. It really works well, too. Nothing is left out of the story and it all fits perfectly together. I laughed out loud, sighed and (appropriately) swooned. It is also sweet, adorable, fresh and fun, and I just want to hug it. I really enjoyed it and it made me feel all good and happy when I finished. It's a great feeling. I admitted last week that I don't read that many contempory books, but A Little Something Different makes me realize that I should. It's set at a college, and there is a little drinking, but otherwise nothing that would be inappropriate for teens who are a bit younger. It's mostly just...

CUTE, CUTE, CUTE!!
